Discussion and voting on "Privacy Policy Proposal” – Presented by Nitin Ved

§  The deadline for poll is 28th Oct.

§  8 points  Proposal  regarding textual content, time restrictions on consents, policy regarding audio/images/visual content, sharing person information, privacy protection

§  More details in Privacy Policy Proposal document.

§  About changing names – what is the process involved to get the permission to publish the name? When the proposal goes through process will be in place. Asha should proactively advice partners about dangers of sharing personal information.

§  Following questions were raised:

1.    Proposal point 3: What about the pictures which are already published? If passed, Asha team members will retroactively filter out the pictures.

2.    Proposal Point 4:  More clarification on guidelines about pre and post donation. Disagree regarding case by case situation and should not depend on project Stuarts, instead we should have general guideline. We agree on the point though need more clarification

3.    Proposal Point 6: What is the process for getting agreement?  This can be online Should not left open to chapters, don't recommend it must be standardized.

Follow up on Delhi 10% Reservation Clause – Presented by Marina Giloi

§  They have an emergency request for $500 for a computer purchase, not reflected in the already approved budget.

§  Is this extra funding on top of what was approved before? No

§  Approved!!

Update on  Deenbandhu home for girls  – Presented by Narayan Gowda

§  Narayan Gowda is a guest speaker. He will be sharing his experiences. Also, he will talk about his projects. Behalf of DeenaBandhu trust. Shrijayadev's visa was denied.

§  Associated with 2 orgs: SEVHA, American service to India

o    40 girls

o    2 phases – 20 girls get accommodated with 2 hour mothers

o    How far is the new facility from current campus? Adjacent

o    $80,000 for phase 1 – raising funds from multiple sources though expected Asha-seattle to be an anchor

o    Gardening expenditure? House grown food supplement food need, and provides gardening  experience

o    Cost only involves building infrastructures, not furniture – Founder wants to just get the project started, he is expecting other to chip in for the rest of the expenditure

o    Ratio of toilet to children around 1:6

o    What are the operational funds? Ratan tata , desai Gaudal foundation, Infosys funds  girls and boys facilities

o    Rent out facility – supplement income

o    What curriculum? Combination of their own and state. Though teaching methods are improvised upon inputs from various sources.

o    Plans of extending school beyond 7 grades? Nope

Update on Project WHY – Presented by Kannan

§  Why teachers pay to teach in Schools?  Accountability. It is community project, everybody participates by giving funds

§  100% run by women

§  Due to insufficient time we had to postpone this agenda item. Thus voting did not take place
