ORGANIZATIONAL: Updates - Project Co-ordinators - Vibhavaree
- April
check sending is under way.
- Site-visits
have been reasonable.

page updates have been fine.

a volunteer for project presentations.

coordinator meeting once every two weeks versus twice
per month.
PROJECT: Udayan School run by Vatsalya - Ashish
- Support
requested for Udayan school
in Achrol, Rajasthan. The school provides
residential facilities for high-risk street children, abandoned
children. Upto 52 residential
children live in the school and the school can accommodate up to 100
children. The goal is to provide school and vocational training in
baking, dairy, tailoring, car repairs, etc. One-time funding request
of approx. USD 5600 for funds for the construction of an overhead water
tank.

more regarding rain water harvesting.

PROJECT : Support - Sujit
- Providing
vocational training to street children. Operate out of
Mumbai. Number of children decreasing, facing infrastructure
issues with rising rents. Organization encounters local community
issues. Still need funds for buildings.
Current Requirements: They
need to be in Mumbai to
have full effect. Need large funds to have own
facilities/buildings. Request is for US$22,400 in funding to cover current
infrastructure, renting and salary requirements.

PROJECT : Udhavum Karangal
- Vibhavaree
- Support
dropped. They have sufficient funds and can make it on their own.
For future projects, we will vote before dropping support for a project.
PROJECT : Vikasana - Pavan
- This
project was funded by Asha Melbourne. The
Asha-Melbourne chapter is dormant and
requested Asha-Seattle to consider supporting
this project.
Some details:
- School
for children engaged in child labor. Based in Karnataka.
Have received funding from Asha-Melbourne for
the past 2 yrs. 30 students. 1teacher for all levels. They
need urgent funding for US $ 1500.
It was decided to provide
emergency funding. Pavan and Manohita to follow-up and present details in next chapter
meeting.

ORGANIZATIONAL: Closer monitoring/looking at Audit Reports - Srijan
- Naintara
can provide a crash course on how to look at audit reports. Audit
Reports should be requested from projects as a best practice. For eg, it would be good to study the audit report for Avehi($126,000
Asha funding) with 900 schools.
PROJECT : Ragamala - Vibhavaree
- Proposal
to vote on a partnership with Ragamala - cross
advertising, giving permission to list Asha as a partner, Asha tea
opportunity at Ragamala events. It was
decided that Vibhavaree will follow-up with Ragamala for expectations and then put this proposal
to vote.
