  • Vishwanath presented on Project Ahead in Calcutta.
  • He gave feedbacks to the questions raised in earlier Asha meetings regarding this project.

ORGANIZATIONAL: Project Proposals - Venky

  • Venky talked about three proposals that needs to be presented in a meeting.
    1. National Association for Blind, Karnataka - will be taken up by Sriram.
    2. Asha Delhi implementation of Govt. commitment to have 25% reservation of seats for underprivileged children in private schools which are recipients of Govt. subsidized lands – will be taken up by Kavitha
    3. Project in Tamil Nadu – will be taken up by Kavitha G

 

 ORGANIZATIONAL: Asha Seattle Meeting Venues - Ken

  • Ken presented three options for possible East side venue of future Asha meetings.
    1. Microsoft Campus (YES: 4)
    2. Either Redmond Regional Library or Redmond Town Center while prioritizing the Library (YES: 8)
    3. Redmond Regional Library, but with shifting dates (YES: 0)

 

 ORGANIZATIONAL: Project Selection - Kavitha

  • Kavitha raised the question of our approach towards handling proposals which might not fit into the Asha Seattle scope at all.
  • The main question was what would be the screening process, and the feasibility of bringing all such proposals in meetings.
  • An extensive discussion took place. We decided to take up this issue in a future Asha workshop.
