Minutes of Asha Seattle meeting on 10/06/2005. Venue: Tandoor Restaurant, U dist, Seattle Attendees: Shefali, Sunil, Vibhavaree, Swati, Tulika, Srijan, Ravi, Aparna, Tapoja & (Bishwanatha for a short while) Discussions: 1. Sunil presented on Asha Santuary which is in need for $3000 for its second conference in early January. The conference is going to be held in Calcutta. The other partners are Sanlaap and Tomorrow's Foundation. The check will be given on the basis of expenditure. There will be no registration/application fee for the conference. It needs to be voted on. It was suggested that there should be a method of documentation of feedbacks from the participants. 2. Bishwanath wants to become the project steward of an Asha Berkeley project called Ahead catering to special children in Calcutta. 3. Aparna presented on SKID, a school catering to deaf children. The school is yet to receive money for teachers' salaries from the government, and is asking for $1938 from Asha-Seattle for partially supporting this cost. 4. Shafali is going to India in seven weeks time, and she was suggested to do a site visit for Avehi Abacus. 5. Swati presented on Bharati Trust. The trust had bought some land with the money designated for other expenses. Now it has requested $5,000 to cover those expenses. Swati will ask for the break up. 6. Swati further suggested that some volunteers should take up reading all the project proposals and prioritizing them.
