Bash did a presentation on a donor specific project
called SNEHA in Dharavi
slum area in Mumbai. a.
He is waiting for a letter from the project formally
requesting the software that is
required there. b. Also it was agreed on unanimously that Bash should go ahead and organize a site visit for the project. 3.
Kentaro gave a presentation on Vigyan Ashram, a school in a fairly drought
prone area in a.
The school works with the drop out students of the
neighboring schools. b.
The school provides vocational trainings of various
sorts including
computer training. It is an ongoing Asha-Seattle
project. c.
Photographs of the school and its premises were shown. d. There is a need for volunteers to work on this project. It was agreed that request for volunteers for this project would be put on the Asha website. 4.
Jayashree gave an exhausting presentation
of all the different kinds of projects that Asha-Seattle
currently is responsible for. a.
A brief history of Asha-Seattle
was also provided. b.
The different projects
were divided up into various categories
that they fall into, with a few with overlapping boundaries (CMS, for example). c. The different projects mentioned
by her were ranging from Anugraha, the Learning Network, Community Based
Interventions, Community awareness
programs, SAC, Sambhavana Clinic, text book review
and so on. |
