Minutes for 04/01/2004.

1. Talked about the candidates standing for the upcoming Asha
election.
2. Discussed about Asha
West Coast Conference in which
Asha-Seattle is going to be the host. Preeti is handling the agendas items of the Conference.
We discussed a little bit about that. If anyone has any more suggestion
please email Preeti.
Sunil is in charge of finding a speaker for the conference as well as
handling
the online registration.
Vinay is going to look after booking venue.
Sree and Vibhavaree
are in charge of food.
Ravi is looking after logistics.
3. Arvind gave a report on the proceeds from the Geetanjali concert. In all 290 tickets were sold.
$650 was received as donation. The total income was $2613. However the net
income was a little less than that.
4.Srijan
presented a brief report on the amount of money that Asha-Seattle had made commitments for. For both this year,
as well as the
next, the amount is about $350,000. There is about $130,000
extra to spend.
5.Rahul spoke about WAH projects.
6. Venky presented a report on SAC hemophilia
project.
7. Ravi
spoke about the status of the Each One Teach One project. Discussion followed
regarding the issue of whether of not to drop the project as it seems that Asha's support is helpful, but not crucial. However it
was decided that at least for the time being Asha-Seattle
will continue supporting the program.
