will introduce the proposal.

Minutes:

Present: Ravi, Jalpa, Dileep, Sowmya (new volunteer)

1. Need and potential availability of the volunteers to support Philly
marathon runners on Nov 19th was discussed. Ravi, Jalpa and Sowmya
showed interest.

2. Ravi brought up the issue of updating the project information on the
chapter website. Ravi mentioned that he would take up the issue with
the project stewards.

3. Possibility of holding a thank you party for the chapter runners was
discussed. It was felt that a low cost gathering may be useful for this
purpose. Ravi and Sowmya volunteered to search avenues for this.

4. Dileep presented updated proposal from DEED. There were questions on
the efficacy, impact and longevity of the project. It was decided to
continue the discussion on the project so that more and more volunteers
can look at the proposal and offer comments. Dileep mentioned that he
would also try to present the proposal to the New York chapter. Jalpa
agreed to coordinate the discussion on the project for the chapter as
Dileep moved to New York.

5. Ravi presented a new proposal on 'Model School' project. This is a
project to support government schools in Mahaboobnagar district of
Andhra Pradesh. The district is one of the backward districts in AP
with low literacy rates. The discussion was preliminary restricted to
introduction of the project. It was decided to continue the discussion
in future meetings to explore if there is any interest from the
chapter.
