Minutes of the meeting on Saturday July 17, 2004.

Present were:

Items presented were:

1.  Sridhar described the the highlights of the work
being done in a tribal area of Tamilnadu by Anu and
Krishna (Asha Fellows supported by our Chapter).

Anu and Krishna have sent a comprehensive report to
Sridhar who will make it available to all of us.
Sridhar encouraged interested volunteers to
communicate with Anu and Krishna, make suggestions and
also learn from their experience.

2.  Princeton AID volunteers (Rajni, Nandini and
Anish) were introduced.  AID and Asha should be able
to work together as the objectives of the two
organizations overlap to some extent.

3.  Suren presented some details on a possible Sarod
performance by Pandit Rajeev Taranath in the Fall.  If
we go forward with it, AID of Princeton would partner
with us.  No decision was taken.  Suren will collect
more information on the costs and possible venues
within the University.  A feeling was expressed that
if we solicit sponsorships for ths event, we may not
be able to approach the same people at the time of
Asha's next Spring fundraiser.

4.  Amit and Pragati were profusely thanked for their
significant contributions to Asha's Princeton Chapter.
 Amit was congratulated for securing a tenured faculty
positon at UCLA.  Since they were leaving on July 21,
a farewell dinner was planned for Sunday, July 18 at
Swagath.

Our next meeting will be on August 7.
