Minutes of the Conference Call on April 26 - by Amrish The following people participated in the call: Amit, Varsha, Priya, Vikas, Amrish, Himanshu, Udai, Vinay, Sumathi, Shankar, Anirban, Dipali and Rajesh. 1. Based on the responses from the participants, Amit estimated the number of tickets sold to be about 300. Out of these, 123 had been sold by Varsha, an amazing feat (Cheers!). 2, The amount of money raised through sponsorships and ads was estimated to be about $4,550. 3. Sumathi provided an update re the advertising on Anil Ki Awaz. People seemed to be in favor but no decision was taken. 4. A radio ad on 89.3 FM was discussed. 5. Issues with the TV-Asia ad were presented by Shankar and it was decided that Shankar and Varsha will address them. 6. Sumathi said that she had contacted Dipak Chattaraj, President of Ranbaxy, and had been promised a ad/sponsorship. 7. Varsha presented a description of the event. In a nutshell, 4 dances by children and 15 songs, all in Hindi. Penn-Masala group was not available because the students would leave the campus by then. There was some discussion on the pros/cons of having songs in Tamil. Varsha convinced the participants that it could open up a Pandora's box. 8. Varsha enquired whether there was going to be a chief guest. The answer was that no one had thought about it. Pros and cons of having one were discussed. Who would give out certificates to children? We wil take up the matter in the meeting on May 4. 9. It was decided to provide the performers with refreshments. Also gifts (Rohini) and certificates (Kumar) for children. 10. Kumar and Rajesh were working hard on obtaining sponsorships. 11. Dipali invited people to assemble in front of Raaga in Lawrenceville for selling tickets on April 27 at 4 PM. Thanks. Amrish
