Minutes of the Saturday, Jan 21, 2006  meeting and action items.

Present :

Asha: Ananya, Amrish, Kumar, Sridhar, Ravi
Guests: Ricky Surie, Aparna Abhyankar, 

1.Ravi informed Asha CNJ's positive response to our chapter's fund 
raiser event location as Rutgers. April 30th or May 6th were 
discussed as possible dates for the event as Asha CNJ is holding its 
event (Indian Ocean rock band concert) on April 8th.  Aparna 
Abhyankar along with Karan Chopra (Rutgers RAAG member) would 
explore the availability of the venue at Rutgers.

Action items: Aparna would work with RuRAAG to reserve an auditorium 
at Rutgers.

2.Sridhar presented 2005 annual report on LTTO program from KNUC 
(Khajurdaha project). The program and the financials were reviewed.  
The budget  proposal for the year 2006 was discussed and approved  
for $7400.

3. Disbursement status for SUPPORT project was reviewed. Funding for 
this project was approved at $5000. It was decided to divert funds 
from Aaj project (at Aajgaon village in Maharastra) and send a check 
for the remaining amount from the chapter budget.  
Action items: Ravi would follow up with Vikas and Uday to send the 
check for the balance amount to SUPPORT. 

4. Ricky Surie shared his experience with Udayan Care Trust 
(www.udayancare.org) specifically the fellowship program. This 
program is similar to "Support a Child" or Asha Scholarships program 
run by the Asha Chennai chapter. Since the trust involved education 
of disadvantaged children, he wondered if Asha Priceton had any 
interest in the fellowship program. Sridhar and Kumar recalled Asha 
Princeton's past debates and experience on this kind of  programs. 

Other items on the agenda could not be discussed because of shortage 
of the time. However, following the meeting, Ananya and Ravi 
reviewed the immediate web site requirements and decided to remove 
the volunteer list as it is causing maintenance problems.
