Projects Coordinator Responsibilities

Admin:
1. Ensure all projects have current stewards who are aware of their responsibilities.
2. Encourage stewards to present updates from the project on regular basis and work on all documentation being available online on the project page.
3. If a steward has been unable to find someone to visit their project work with the projects working group or the Asha-wide projects group to arrange for a site visit.
4. Be completely comfortable with the use of the projects database and help new stewards learn and maintain effective websites.
5. Act as backup steward for projects that are in transition or are not supported.
Coordination:
6. Learn about as many project initiatives of different chapters as possible and look out for possibilities of sharing projects with other chapters.
7. Be actively involved with the Asha-wide projects group and attend weekend conference calls to be in touch with the latest project initiatives. If you are unable to attend conf call read through the minutes carefully.
8. Enthuse volunteers to be stewards and utilize opportunities like WAH or proposals-database to help people learn about critical questioning and present projects without being stewards.
9. Encourage stewards to find innovative ways to raise funds for their projects.
10. Help discussions stay objective by sticking to the issues.
11. Bring issues, learning material, videos to give life to the work we do with our projects.
12. Research on local efforts that can give better understanding of project partners' work. For e.g. volunteering at a local community organic farm, can give some idea of sustainable farming practices.
13. Network with other organizations and efforts to invite speakers and increase learning of issues within the chapter.
14. Encourage stewards to take a holistic view of providing help to project partners and not restrict to only monetary interaction. For e.g. providing new Autism related reading material from local orgs to project partners working on mental disability.
Prerequisite/requisite:
15. You should have stewarded a project in the past or should take up stewardship of a project.
Other:
16. Be on the lookout for a replacement the day you start.
